It's a lot like the old WOT series. People use to complain bitterly about Jordan not finishing that. I suspect that Sanderson may have done a better job finishing that than Jordan would have. Certainly the last couple of Jordan books were not terribly memorable.
I never have gotten interested in the GOT series, the books or the TV series. I really like Rothfuss and will likely buy the third book when/if it ever comes out. Butcher, as I said, churned out a bunch and likely got a bit burned out. The question is, can he rekindle the flame or does he just sort of drift away like so many authors do after 10 -20 years of writing?
