In the latest chapter of my continuing saga to finish "Unto the Breach" by John Ringo we find our plucky protagonist in receipt of a fresh email from the "stock point" in Germany.
Although I had visions in my sleep last night of an aryan technician with compelling blue eyes that spoke of quiet technical competence steadily going through boxes of iLiad's, carefully opening each box, plugging in one iLiad after another to check that they work, putting questionable units on a rather large stack next to a hazmat recycling dumpster, then finally selecting one unit for more careful inspection, then putting it back in a box to send to me... I suddenly realize the blue in the technician's eyes is the blue in the cold hard light of a near autumn dawn that finds me sweating as I realize the big roulette wheel of chance was spun this evening in Germany and yet another factory sealed box was randomly selected by an unfeeling and likely heavily exploited developing world worker whom fate has washed up upon the distant shores of Germany to earn hard currency to send home to their family so they can buy food and clean water and that hastily and randomly selected iLiad is even now speeding its way to me for final Quality Assurance Inspection.
If this keeps up they'll probably have to have me ISO-9001 certified on their next audit.
