thanks david, perchance and I know not how, the card came good just a minute ago, after 5 hours of trying everything. last thing was setting the boot flag on rootfs on the one that had stuffed up. possible that the battery was only 2/3 charged and it was charged more today.
tomorrow a Clonezilla backup onto a DVD and buried under a tree somewhere.
got the flashing light and I knew it was up to something.
all this in 100degree fahrenheit heat today.
I still have this issue of Linux not recognising it using cable, hence need to take the card out to put anything on it. it used to work ok. 2 different cables, 2 different linux machines.
just deleted a lot of books, it alsways crashes at 16% updating content when rebooting (the familiar epub issue with ungracious behaviour).
why am I not surprised... deleted all the books except one, it still has them all showing, and then tells me it cannot open non existing books because of adobe DRM. perhaps corrupted sql file , but how useless. I bet if I sent myself a love letter onto it it would say the same.
I'll start from scratch tomorrow with a clean image.
thanks again.
