Simple fix - don't watch TV.

A last minute TV ad blitz has become a necessity for an elected official. Fail to do it and you lose.

And the sheer costs of a TV campaign leave politicians spending most time fundraising, and generate the complaints about where the funds come from.

I've thought on occasion of what might occur if campaign laws were changed to forbid TV advertising to get votes, and force politicians to find other ways to reach voters.

It won't happen, but it's fun to contemplate.
