Free audible trial + 4 credits also worked for me using the Alexa app on my Fire HD10, so it doesn't have to be on an Echo. (Yippee!) Credits appeared in my account immediately - and I am not a new member... have used several special offers (Groupon etc.) but haven't been signed up as a member for some months before this.
