Here is a picture of the grid lines on the old Kobo Aura (Original from 2013)
This is a small section of the top part of the screen taken outdoors in the sun which is the only time I usually saw the grid lines, looks like scratches on the screen and was only visible on the top 2-3cm of the screen on my Aura. I did take a look at H2O2 at Indigo earlier this evening and couldn't see anything like this on the screen but the light in the store is not optimal for looking for this sort of thing.
