But I agree, "Swipe to Unlock" is pretty bad. I wrote about my experience with this "Swipe to Unlock" in another post.

On the initial firmware, I could just push the power button to unlock and jump right into the book/homescreen.

On the new firmware, the swipe is impossible to use in the dark, and I more than likely reset the entire device instead.

For the "correct rotation", I think a better solution would be like in Android, allow you to enable/disable any of the degrees individually (0° + 90° + 180° + 270°). Personally, I would set it to 0° (or 180°) and forget about it!

Hope for the next firmware to bring back the original unlock.

Or like MGlitch said, "Get a sleep cover". (Having to buy expensive extra hardware because of a crippling software decision... ugh...)
