i think that size and kind of a document you are using have much more impact on battery usage then settings it self.

For example i think that ereader has a capacity of 512mb of ram. i don't know how much is used by kobo software it self, but i think that poorly structured epub can cause a crash, and much more battery drain then correctly structured one. so renderig pdf that was made out of HD pictures use much more battery then plain ocr-ed text ones.

i had a crash of my KA1 when a book i was reading was created in 1 html file.
when i edited same epub (just splitting on 1 html per chapter) all was fine.
