I say battery life varies a lot even with the same model.
I've always been impressed with how long my KA1 lasts. As I said earlier, my previous readers were the first H2O and before that the Aura HD. I definitely didn't see a serious drop in battery life. I feel like I have to charge my Oasis 2 a lot more frequently. On both, I leave wifi on, but rarely use the light.
My husband has both devices as well, and his experience is the exact opposite -- short battery life on the Kobo, long on the Oasis. He keeps light and wifi on with the Oasis. On the Aura One, he uses the light, but keeps wifi off in an attempt to make it last longer.
