Did some testing for landscape:
1) cleared scanline info
2) initiated sleep, power off
(no result)
3) repeated step 2 in the hope that it would work as my first attempt with portrait)
(no result)
4) Tried initiating sleep after a few minutes
(no result)
At no point did it look like there was an attempt at scanline hitting anything, though I may just not have seen as I have nightmode on. Nothing was added to screensaver.cfg
I was able to instantly restore portrait by replacing the strings I posted above. Not sure what else I can do at this point. I could endlessly powercycle but if after two rounds (which was what it took for portrait) it didn't kick in I don't think it's going to.
