I got my Forma and sleep cover on Thursday and I can confirm that there's no swiping that needs to be done. When you open the sleep cover, the Forma turns on immediately. The cover is really nice and seems to be pretty sturdy. So far, I'm very happy with the Forma--very light and easy to hold, the screen is large and very bright and everything works really well with Calibre.
