Have you tried using PaperCrop using Caritas' pi algorithm (reflow). I think that might work well in portrait mode?

I like the large type but you're right, the formatting is kind of squirrely and some lines still get cut through the middle.

It may come down to a device that can read script formatting natively (as created by Movie Magic or Microsoft Word templates). But that's probably way in the future. I think we've given folks something they can work with.
