That's what I've been doing with a Tag or Note about which name is on the particular book. In the middle of the night I had a thought about it. So, I've just tried Maxwell, Ann & Lowell, Elizabeth (aka) and Calibre is letting me do that. It causes 2 entries in "Authors" search (one under Lowell, Elizabeth and one under Lowell, Elizabeth (aka), but I can live with that until I check out the other solutions here. I do like a simplistic solution, though, so I may just stick with this one.

Thus it is easy to find both authors by searching just for one of them. The obvious disadvantage is that the "aka" information is missing.
