It can be done, but doing so programmatically ( via a search) gets chancy.
there are 2 formats for a title. They can differ among titles (EPUB,PDF for book 1. AZW3, TXT for book 2)
Which one do you want to keep. Book 3 only has PDF, book 4 is only TXT.
See the issues? You can easily remove a single format. The issue, is when NOT to remove it.

Given all the OP's posts regarding Dropbox, I expect the library is stored there and iirc, Dropbox only gives 2GB free. They do give bonus for occasional tasks and referrals. To be honest though, it seems like anyone who's willing to use cloud storage services already has a Dropbox account.
As for the search thing, one could always work their way down by order of preference.
e.g.
Code:
formats:#>1 and formats:"=EPUB"
then Remove books - Remove all formats from selected books, except...
Rinse and repeat.
