I don't use TTS much but, a couple times, when reading on my Kindle 3, I've used the feature when my eyes were tired but I wanted to finish a chapter. I mostly followed along even though it was reading to me. (Immersive reading?) At any rate, I don't use the feature much, but I like that it's there.

Meant to add ... also agree with your assessment of Voice View. It's kind of clunky for those who can see. I can understand, however, why it would great for the blind. But it does let you listen to non-TTS enabled books.
