This is exactly what's keeping me from upgrading to a 32GB Kindle (me eBook collection is at ~ 5,200, organized into about 10 collections). Not having a decent Collections management system (without jailbreaking) is a deal-breaker. I've looked at the options for Collections Management via Calibre and they are beyond daunting due to the complexity involved, IMHO.
I recently noticed on my Voyage that any collection larger than approximately 950 books won't allow anything to be added...SMH....
