Smile Nook Book Bargains

Not sure how many Nook users here, but here are some of the better bargains I found on the BN.com site. Please feel free to add your own:

Breaking Creed by Alex Kava. $1.99 Ryder Creed runs a dog training center using rescue dogs. When he and Jack Russell terrier Grace discover smuggled humans in a fishing vessel, he gets the attention of Columbian cartels. FBI agent Maggie O'Dell (star of another Kava series) finds Creed's name on a list of hits, but can she get to him before the cartel does?

Suspenseful and great read for dog lovers.

Life after Life by Kate Atkinson $2.99 Chosen as one of the 10 best books of 2013 by the New York Times Book Review. On a cold and snowy night in 1910, Ursula Todd is born to an English banker and his wife. She dies before she can draw her first breath. On that same cold and snowy night, Ursula Todd is born, lets out a lusty wail, and embarks upon a life that will be, to say the least, unusual. For as she grows, she also dies, repeatedly, in a variety of ways, while the young century marches on towards its second cataclysmic world war.

Does Ursula's apparently infinite number of lives give her the power to save the world from its inevitable destiny? And if she can -- will she?

Cry Wolf by Patricia Briggs $2.99. Briggs is my favorite urban fantasy writer. She builds her world carefully, and her characters are nuanced. This is the first full novel of her Alpha and Omega paranormal romance series, where the main characters are werewolves and magic is real. Anna and her husband Charles are sent to find a rogue werewolf in the Montana wilderness. *Note* Anna and Charles' story actually begins in a novella called "Alpha and Omega." ($2.99) You can read "Cry Wolf" without having read A/O, but it does provide good backstory.
