Depends what you mean by "working page numbers". Mobi page numbers are fine for keeping track of how many pages you've read (eg if you start reading on page 100, and you finish reading on page 170, then you really have read 70 pages). The only problem with them lies in using them to "jump" to a specific location in the book, but that's generally unnecessary, given the existance of hyperlinks and bookmarks.
