He suggested that we would be hospitable by recommending good, but inexpensive hotels in the area, in addition to a nice welcoming dinner... elsewhere.

Granted the Muffin Man isn't the most sociable, but he has a very kind heart, so I think if he's saying the same as DesertGrandpa, you can stop worrying.
Thank you, neko-san.

I think I forget that since I'm on here just about every day, and feel so comfortable with 'the crowd', I wouldn't hesitate to invite any of you into my home.

My husband, on the other hand, has no outside interests, and doesn't care to cultivate any. I have given up trying to encourage him to do so.

He is a very good, kindhearted man, and i love him dearly. He didn't hesitate when my one and only daughter was pregnant with her first child, putting our beautiful house on the market 2000 miles away and schlepping me cross country so I could be here when the baby was born.
He has been the best life-mate I could possibly hope for, and I'm thankful we found each other, altho a little late in life.

The fault lies entirely with me. Inviting Ricky, without consulting (not asking, mind you , consulting!)with him first, was wrong. In retrospect, I can understand his reaction. Unfortunately, I do have a tendency to speak first and deal with the consequences later.
