The issue is actually the exchange rate. Currently, the Canadian dollar is 23% less than the US dollar and makes everything priced in USD more expensive by 23%.
Conversely, of course, anything purchased in USD from Canada -- Chapters Indigo's website, for instance -- is 23% cheaper excluding taxes.
It's got nothing to do with tariffs.
