(To add insult to injury, it doesn't detect my 5Ghz Wifi, it detects but cannot connect to the 2.4 Ghz Wifi. So I have no way of connecting it to my computer.)
Did You try to connect to another computer? Just to know if Kobo works elsewhere. Another chance is to buy a new cable, of good quality, and try with it. There is a post in this forum that indicates that a shiny new cable solved it.
If nothing works the guilty is Your Kobo.
