I have used this method extensively, for me its appeal is that it produces
consistent results without any tweaking, because there's nothing to tweak.
That said, these days I mostly import PDFs into Word 2016, which has the same appeal - consistency. I then use the ePubTools Addin for Word to massage the DOCX, it has features that specifically target dealing with the idiosyncrasies of OCR and PDF conversions.
