Amazon constantly update the fire tablets range., The hardware and the operating system.

So is this a moan about the Kindle book reading app that is pretty instwlled the tablets ?

Your title is confusing. Amazon stopped making Kindle fire branded tablets years ago. They make Kindle sink readers and fire tablets.
The fire tablet reader app is pretty much the same as the reading app on the e ink kindles.. has the same fonts, dctionaries, fewtures

Easy to use. Does the basic things well, but is aimed at mass market, not at users who want to tweak every possible reading setting.

If you don't like Amazon's approach, of a a simple ui which is consistent across lots 9f devices, then you can convert your books and sideloaded a different epub app with more below and whistles. Or buy a kobo. Reader or a pure android tablet .
