Well, I've tried the Libera app. It's very useful for such difficult pdfs. I can page turn the "imperial assault manual" with full speed. The app just displays the page numbers in the center of a white screen and render the page once I stop page turns.

That being said, I can't really complain about the speed. I even have scanned books in 300dpi of size 200MB and more, the page turn is very fast.
