Don't we turtles know how to travel through time but we don't do it because every turtle that did it disappeared due to the splitting-timeline rule* of time travel?
*When you travel through time the time line splits at the moment you arrive, the original timeline where you left, and the new timeline where the time-traveling you exists. From the point of view of the original timeline you disappeared and never returned. Further, you can never return to your original timeline.
