I have newer worked curiously with pdf import: what is done - it is just a simple pdf text extraction. Maybe when I have a time I will do it better. But now I would recommend you to try another pdf tool included into BD distribution: Tools -> PdfToMany (full Acrobat 5.0 or higher installation required).
