Why would need to go to 1885 to meet Doc Brown when we can just wait around until The Doctor shows up*?
*In my encyclopedia of science fiction it shows the range of time that many science fiction series/movies take place. For Doctor Who it shows the range as being from the beginning of time until the end of time.
