Tidying up my rooms. Next week we'll most likely to be able to pick up two kittens at the animal shelter. In the past weeks they either only had males (we've always had female cats) or female cats that weren't good with kids. Though the kittens will be kept upstairs in the beginning we know that they're eventually going to be allowed in the store and cats that can deal with kids is a must. Next week two kittens will become available from their foster parents and they'll give us a call when they arrive at the shelter. Apparently one is a bit shy, but you can still pick her up. All our previous cats were very different in personality, so one that's a bit shy is not a problem.
I have an Ikea Kallax shelf set as bedside table. Earlier in the year Ikea introduced their pet product, which include an insert cat house for the Kallax. I've emptied one of the shelves, it was my junk shelf so it was needed anyway, and put in the cat house (really more of a cat cubicle). I also put an old, folded up fleece blanket next to my pillow, creating another sleeping spot.
I really hope we can adopt next week; not only am I really looking forward to having cats again, but after weeks of relatively quiet I've been hearing a little visitor in my room again for the last couple of nights. It will be nice to get rid of those, too.
