I suspect Windows updated

one of the Libraries (DLL's) that Calibre depends on, which is why everyone who runs calibre on a 'connected' pc, has been hit. (I suspect that if your laptop HAS NOT connected to M$, then this has not happened. BUT, then the PI would also have no source to get data from, so who cares if it is broke

)
