I've tried what you said. Originally it enabled Calibre to start fairly quickly, but it did not make any difference in the "no response" problem that still occurs after any change in metadata.

As well, it is just about impossible to synch as wireless with my tab. Yesterday I waited for 3 hours for a synch, only to end up (after reaching 100%) having Calibre give a message that there was an "error communicating with device".

Due to travel, my ability to work on this problem is limited for the next few days, but any ideas are absolutely appreciated.
