The theme is a very wide one. I can't say that any of the books nominated are outside of the theme, though the connection is sometimes a bit tenuous. I too would have expected to see more science fiction nominations or even the odd ghost story. The process for selection is both democratic and fair, and of course everyone is free to vote according to their preferences. I would however be interested in the attitude of those participating to Science Fiction. I would like to read posts from those who will not or are unlikely to nominate or vote for a science fiction book. What is your reason if there is one other than simply not liking the genre? I make no criticism and have no intention of questioning your views or arguing the issue. Just curious.
