I'll try some of the series on your list!

Blossom, we don't tend to have the same taste in books, and I don't read much romantic suspense, so I was racking my brain trying to think of something you'd like. The Mercy Thompson series was one of the series I came up with.
Even better is Patricia Briggs' other series, Alpha & Omega, which is set in the same world as Mercy, although can read one series without reading the other. The hero, Charles, is kind of a werewolf assassin and definitely the strong, silent type, but utterly devoted to Anna, his mate. If you do decide to start this series, you have to start it with the original novella, called Alpha & Omega, where the two first meet. You can try the novella, and you'll know pretty quickly if it appeals to you. The first full length book is called Cry Wolf.
Another suggestion that I have is the Hidden Legacy series by Ilona Andrews, starting with Burn For Me. Rogan, the hero, is alpha all the way, but the heroine keeps him in line - it's a similar vibe to Eve and Roarke, now that I think about it.
