For long term storage the battery has to be charged, and the best results are if it's charged about 80%.
I don't want to dig why are you concerned about the battery. Its capacity is so big that even when it looses half of it it would still be quite fine. There was the indiegogo campaign from good-e-reader 13" which had battery of half the capacity and no one was concerned about that. I use my phone as wifi router at home so I keep it connected to the charger most of the time. The battery is almost like new after 2 years. Of course I take the phone with me when I go out so normal discharge/charge cycles apply. Based on that I suppose if you are going to use the battery anyway once in a while I guess it's fine to keep it fully charged.
