My point is actually that the producer should enable as many options as possible. The user will use the option he needs on the spot: if touch, touch it will be, if button, button it will be, if shouting, shouting it will be. Sometimes one is more practical, sometimes another.
In scrolling (web browsing, document browsing), for example, swipe gestures can be severely inaccurate, painful to use.

Software can always be fixed, to tweak hardware after it is shipped is at least tricky.
If you want optimal software, for effectiveness, lobby on a community of developers, instead of relaying on the limited powers (and sometimes, Onyx not intended, intentions) of one Company.
I have had Sony and its software was severely lacking. It could not even be fixed by modding.
