Fire in The Thatch: A Devon Mystery by E. C. R. Lorac, pen name for Carol Carnac, itself a pen name for Edith Caroline Rivett (at least according to SYKM), is £0.99 today as part of the UK Kindle Daily Deal. Thatch is about half way through Lorac's Robert Macdonald series.

The Second World War is drawing to a close.
