I have a 32 gig card set up as adoptable storage. I disabled the following apps:
Google Play Movies & TV
Hangouts
Chrome
Google Play Games
MapsYT Kids

I moved any other apps to the SD Card (granted I only have three apps Media Monkey, OfficeSuite, and Dolphin).

Doing this I have over 1 gig available for internal storage..
