I admit to not reading much of this thread, but my opinion re the original post is no and no. The things I'd like to add to the Kindle PW is an SD port and a headphone jack and text to speech.
As far as charging away from home, can't most cars charge a Kindle? (I don't drive.) Or maybe head into a cafe and use their phone charging facilities? Or be more prepared!
