You'll probably have to open it. The only thing I can think of is to try doing a full charge and attempting to reset it. The main issue is that the reset is handled by u-boot, so if it is corrupted, there's not much that can be done to fix it.
Does it show up as a usb device (of any sort) when you plug it in (look in Device Management on Windows or lsusb on Linux)?
