I see your point, but to me it looks rather like a chance(maybe, just maybe) to develop the asymmetrical form–factor and weight distribution further. I like very much this concept of heavy part to hold vs. light part for text, so if Amazon goes with something with heavier(and higher battery capacity) hoilding part, I'd just applaud. So to me this attachment is like an attempt to implement the concept on my lap
. The challenge is just to minimize the ugliness and keep palm comfort reasonable
