I think my reply to you got deleted somehow, Jimmxinu. I think the problem is the new "feature" in 2.27:
"Calibre Plugin: Remove ebook formats before update, overwrite or unnew so that the previouis version ends up in trash instead of just copied over."
This is copied from the version list.
I would prefer to just copy over instead of overwrite.
I did update to the latest version, and had removed and installed a new copy of fanficfare. I haven't changed anything in the books other than to update with fanficfare.

I apologize for not being clearer in my first post.
