I like your Gnu Linux Avatar. There are some features in KePub on the Kobos that aren't available in ePub, but nothing that I care about. But if the book comes in KePub format I (usually) just leave it that way – unless the typesetting is really terrible.
What really makes the Kobos shine (in my opinion) is the ability to patch the software.
