First Jackie: You misunderstood the point of my statement. This was not to say that AFTER I add the new html file I cannot use the tool, but to demonstrate that BEFORE I add the file, my preference is known to the editor and hence usable when creating the new html file. I can assure you my statement is right, as I have used this tool frequently. I make mistakes but I dont write claims based on assumption ;-)
Secondly everyone: thanks for the feedback on the point. It already took far more time than it‘s worth!!! I thought it was a valid point - actually I still do - but I do fully understand Kovid‘s reason so that closes it for me.
Thirdly just out of interest - I used also Sigil for years, before the Calibre editor appeared it was the only game in town, and it still has several unique features so I do still use it often but I would say it‘s 80-20 calibre these days.
Finally regarding the pcture replacement thing, I didnt use calibre today, but can i just ask kovid: did the replacement file have the same name as the one in the epub? Maybe this was the problem? I was exporting the jpg, editing it, and right vlicking to reimport it over the old version. Couldnt get this to work, had to delete and reimport. I can remember i had this problem before so i thought, this time i‘ll memtion it.
