Years ago, my first attempt at creating and uploading a book here was this title, and I now see, downloading it to check, that is definitely sub-standard. So I have started from scratch with a brand-new build, complete with a cover taken from my ancient Hodder paperback edition from the 1920s.
The title character Heine is the head of Germany's espionage operation in England during WW1. Vain, inept, and with no self-awareness, he tells his misadventures in his own words. It is very well done, with Heine writing in a distinctly individual "voice" throughout. It is essentially a sequence of short stories with an overall narrative arc.
