The delete from the 'onboard' was a last resort to delete the book.
Will do a factory reset after recharging the KA1. Hopefully the SQLite also gets reset. Did see 'interesting' msg about that I am not allowed to read a book because of DRM! Don't remember where I did the tap but was still able to read the book after ignoring the msg.

If it is helpful, I believe that logging out and back in on the Kobo device will reset the database.
