If they were synced from Kobo, they will be in your archive with the reading information preserved when you look at the web view. Library borrows from the device? Same as purchased and synced from Kobo except that when the loan expires, you will get a preview to act as a placeholder for any annotation, book marks, etc.

The main difference I've seen from Amazon is you can't add sideloaded books to the cloud. Sideloaded books have very little information sent to Kobo other than pages read and time spent reading.

Not of that much interest for me since I prefer to download, import into calibre, cleanup metadata, covers and series data and then send to my Kobo. I will use the store from my Kobo when I'm not near my computer and want to pick up a new read or borrow a library book (library books available from my library will show either a borrow or place a hold option).

Here's a sample for two books from the web view. Format is title, author, series, genre, (unread, % read or finished). I reformatted the single line display to multiple lines.

The Shockwave Rider
John Brunner

Science Fiction & Fantasy
45% read

Wolverine's Daughter
Doranna Durgin
Wolverine's Daughter
Science Fiction & Fantasy
Finished

If I'm looking for unread books on my Kobo, I just select unread as the display filter. This is one place where they went a bit overboard. You can select All, Reading, Unread, Finished, Purchased, OverDrive, Imported and Downloaded* as filters with a sort order choosen from Recent, Date added, Title, Author, Series, File size and File Type.

* Downloaded are books purchased from Kobo and synced or sideloaded books. Since my Kobo is set to remove downloads when I finish a book purchased from Kobo, if I want to re-read it, I have to tap on the download link in the My Books display.
