I started to use nikel's dialogue to remove the book. The KA1 'flashed' to a brown/orange screen then to a screen with a prompt of whether to enable wifi then to the KSM start menu for selection of nikel or KOReader & other stuff. Looks to me like eventually, the KA1 feels like it rebooted Went thru the procedure several times with a couple of times just waiting to see what happens.

The delete from the 'onboard' was a last resort to delete the book.

Will do a factory reset after recharging the KA1. Hopefully the SQLite also gets reset. Did see 'interesting' msg about that I am not allowed to read a book because of DRM! Don't remember where I did the tap but was still able to read the book after ignoring the msg.
