But, this is not a tablet. It is a dedicated device intended to do one function. It doesn't need to implement any application swapping as it only runs one at a time. The interface is simple and clear on how to switch between different function.

Have also tried to "remove" books from "my books" but it still shows up in "my books"; was able to remove the collection but not the books from 'my books'. Will be trying to remove the books from 'onboard' after I finish reading current book since I am unable, so far, to 'exit' the book (in nickle(?)) to go to 'onboard'.

I do see popups that state I can select remove ALL the books from the download or 'my books'; nothing agout just 1 or more books. Did see 'help' about removing a book after finishing reading to 'save space' but the 'remove' do not seem to work.

The Aura One do need a real file manager even tho some say it is not needed. Many ways to add a book but nothing about deleting/removing a book.

Wonder if reviews ever add books or remove a book in their reviews. If not they are doing a crummy job.
I am confused by these two posts. At first I thought you were talking about KOReader, which I don't use. But the mention of collections implies you are talking about nickel. If so, what's the problem? You can delete books through the interface. Just long press on the book and select the option from the menu. Or, maybe, read the user guide, it does tell you how to do this. And I just checked it, the instructions are correct and I know they work. If you want to delete multiple books, then use the "Manage downloads" function.

The mention of "onboard" also confuses me. The only way I can think to know this exists is to telnet into the device. And if you are deleting books that way, then, no they won't disappear from the device library. Or is there a way to see this from KOReader and you are deleting them there and going back to nickel. Again, the books won't disappear from library. In both these cases, if you tried to open the book, you would get an error and, I think, get an option to remove it. It's been to long since I did that to remember. If you delete the book when it is connected to a PC, nickel will clean up when you disconnect.

If I'm missing something, then you need to explain what you are actually doing. The delete works. If it didn't for you, then state what you actually did so we can work out what went wrong.

And if you use a Kobo device as they are designed, there is absolutely no need for a file manager. If you are using other tools or applications, then it is up to them to supply the full range of functions needed.
