I live on the Pacific plate (Los Angeles area). San Francisco is on the North American plate. One day we will be neighbors as the Pacific plate is rotating and moving (slipping and sliding) Los Angeles northward. Maybe someday the plates wont rotate but pull apart (though that's not the way the plates are moving now) and the chunk of California on the Pacific plate could become an island. We'll all be long dead many times over before any of this happens (happy thought isn't it).
Sorry no beach front property for Arizona or Nevada.
