I still find quite a few people who don't realize that memory was an issue with NiCd batteries. The later NiMH batteries did not suffer from memory effects and while Li-ion batteries have some charge related issues where overcharging and letting the battery totally discharge are ungood, I find it hard to claim that is a memory effect.
