There are plenty of pictures floating around. Most reviews show them. I can't post one at the moment, but I'm sure there was one posted in the last few days in these forums.

Also where does one get "koboroot.tgz"??? I see references/links to tophat software but I am not allowed to download using Firefox & will not use Chrome since I do not like the idea of logging onto a google account just to use a browser where everything I do is archived on the google cloud (yes I did check the chrome settings & what they save on the cloud as the default).

Strictly, you don't worry about the KoboRoot.tgz and just let the device update whenever it sees an update. But, otherwise, you get it from wherever you are told to get it from.
The KoboRoot.tgz file is the mechanism for updating the device. Hence when an update is available, the device will download it. Or if you are impatient, you download it using the link someone has worked out and posted.
The KoboRoot.tgz file is also used to add or fiddle with the software on the device. In this case, you get the file from the place the person who is producing this tells you to get it. They will supply a link or the software to produce the file.
